Ordinarily we avoid political or non-football talk here, but with net neutrality coming to an FCC vote on December 14, an exception should be made, as ending net neutrality would possibly fatally damage sites like ours.
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s plan to end net neutrality would allow ISPs like Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon to introduce “fast lanes” (higher loading speeds) for companies that pay while throttling connections for everyone else. This would choke the ability of smaller sites, like ours, to compete with the traffic of paying sites.
This is only one of the devastating effects that would arise from Chairman Pai’s plan.
I encourage you to write Congress (link to form here; form includes template letter) and urge them to prevent this from happening. It would stifle our community and our fandom.
Thank you. You may return to your regularly-scheduled football content.
