Comment System Feedback

It’s now been a month since the discontinuation of the Livefyre commenting system and the switch to Wpdiscuz (I probably spelled that wrong). During that month, we have continued to tweak the system in response to what has or has not been working. We understand that you prefer different aspects from Livefyre to those aspects of the current system, and probably vice versa as well, but one thing should be kept in mind:

The current system was always a temporary solution once Livefyre was discontinued.

To that end, we are asking for feedback. Feel free to answer as many of the following points as possible, as well as others that you may think of:

  • What features of the current system do you like? What features do you dislike?
  • What features of Livefyre did you like? What did you dislike?
  • Are there any other features from other comment systems you would like to see implemented?

Email us at admin@patsfootballfans.com with your feedback and suggestions.

Right now, there is no set timeline for establishing a long-term solution to the comments, but we are working on getting something permanent at the soonest, best possible time.

As always, we appreciate your sticking with this community through this technical issue.

You may now return to your scheduled football discussion.

How awesome would it be if we traded Jimmy G for the 49ers 1st round pick, trade down to the panthers pick, then trade down from the panthers pick to the cardinals pick to have multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks? Our picks could be this: Round 1, Pick 13, Round 1, Pick 32, Round 2, Pick 40, Round 2, Pick 64, Round 3, Pick 66, Round 3, Pick 72, Round 3, pick 77, Round 3, Pick 96, Round 3, Pick 103, Round 4, Pick 137, Round 5, Pick 163, Round 5, Pick 183, Round 7, Pick 239. Hugo,What do you mean?

hugowasmyhomeboy

What i mean is this: why are we expecting Butler to be the one guy who moves under a 1st rd tender in modern restricted free agency? The closest example to Butler signing and leaving is John Hutchinson’s move from Seattle to Minnesota under the transition tag back in 2006. This doesn’t happen and I’m curious why we expect it to happen with Butler.Report

If they want a CB with NFL experience, then Bouye is available without having to give up a 1st rounder.Report

dp73

Because Butler is better. This was Bouye first year as a starter. Butler was a Pro Bowl player last year.Report

Yeah, the players vote strictly by merit. That’s why LeVeon Bell voted Kirk Cousins ahead of Tom Brady on the Top 100 vote.
Give me a break.
DO you think BB gives a crap how many Pro Bowls a player has been selected to when he chooses players?Report

I think it does matter in what the player is looking for in a contract.

I read that and wondered if it will impact Reiss. He covers one team and they might be looking to keep people who cover more teams. At the same time, he covers one of the biggest NFL teams and these cutbacks might target sports that do not generate the same revenue as the NFL.Report

Reiss is safe in that he covers the Pats, and gets the probably gets the most eyeballs of any “NFL Nation” writer.

Closely assess the financial market for Robert Woods: One year after signing restricted free-agent receiver Chris Hogan from Buffalo in a move that paid off handsomely, why not go back to the same well for the second year in a row? Woods is an excellent route runner who could thrive with Tom Brady throwing him the football, just as Hogan has. If the financial market is reasonable, Woods would be the type of signing who isn’t necessarily a top need but is too good to pass up.Report

Fleming’s situation is interesting. I imagine the Pats will RFA tender him with the original round tender of $1.8m. No reason not to, especially with the cap space they have.
